Top 10 Summit Hikes in Colorado

1. Longs Peak 

A famous mountain with tough trails. The Keyhole Route is the main way up.

2. Mount Elbert 

Colorado's highest peak. The Northeast Ridge trail is the usual path.

3. Grays and Torreys Peaks 

Two nearby mountains often climbed together. You can start at Grays Peak Trailhead.

4. Quandary Peak 

Pretty views and not too hard. Use the East Ridge route.

5. Mount Bierstadt 

Good for beginners. Start at Guanella Pass.

6. Mount Evans 

You can drive most of the way up. Great views at the top.

7. Mount Sneffels 

Harder climb in the San Juan Mountains. Try the Lavender Col route.

8. Crestone Needle 

Tough climb for experts in the Sangre de Cristo Range. South Face is a hard route.

9. La Plata Peak

A challenge but nice views. Use the Northwest Ridge trail.

10. Handies Peak 

Remote and quiet with moderate trails. Start at Grizzly Gulch.
